I have been using a bread machine for 11 years. This one is the second one I’ve had and by far makes a superior loaf of good looking bread. The lower shape means there is no waste or funny looking oversize sandwiches. The double blades mix the bread dough very well. All my old recipes work very well. The 3 custom programs are easy to use. What more could I ask.

This is the best bread machine I have tried. Because of the two paddles it can mix whole grain bread. And the custom setting option makes it easy to adjust. I make whole grain bread several times a week and every loaf is perfect.

This is my fourth different brand bread machine. I have used this machine 4 times now. I am still getting use to it. The more I use it, the more I find it different from my other machines. For my english muffin loaf bread I needed to add a little more bread flour during the knead cycle. For the Pumpernickel bread I needed to add a little more warm water during the knead cycle. I know this has a preheat cycle, but I still use warm water. When I add the yeast I sprinkle it all across the top of the last item going in, because of the double paddles.
Just remember to use the freshest flours and other ingredients the recipe calls for.

Admittedly, I have only had this machine for 2days, so I can not speak to reliability yet. Normally I would not review a product so early, but some negative reviews elsewhere almost scared me off. I have baked three loaves in two days, and I am just thrilled with the results. I bought this to replace a Breadman Plus, because I wanted the horizontal loaf pan, dual paddles, and customizable settings. I was not sure about the purchase, as the Breadman was producing fairly good bread, and I’d read about some problems with dry and/or overcooked bread. I’m so glad we made the switch. So far, I have baked a cinnamon apple raisin bread, a pumpernickel, and a honey-oat-wheat bread, all on the whole wheat setting, with between 50 and 66% whole grains. (None of the recipes were designed for the Zo.) The pumpernickel loaf is especially lovely. It looks like it came from the bakery NOT the bread machine. Perfect crust all around and in my four year old’s words: “Mommy! It’s tastes like pumpernickel!” After a tip from a friend, I’ve pulled all the loaves out a little early, between 5 (for the apple bread) and 15 minutes. (I could create a custom setting for this, but for now, I’ll just do it on my own.) This probably helped prevent the bread from drying out, as some people experienced, and kept the crust softer and lighter, as we like it. The breads were lighter and airier than in the Breadman, and the crusts were so much better–still, well, crusty, but not at all hard. The pan cleans up more easily than the Breadman, and the paddles have not stuck in the bread at all yet. Oh, and the horizontal load is much easier to cut 1oz slices. We’re thrilled so far. Hopefully that will continue.

I have made eight loaves of bread with this machine and all have turned out great. It is very simple to turn out great bread with this machine. The house always smells terrific during breadmaking which is an added bonus. I have found the machine quiet and easy to use by following the directions and the receipes carefully. With no preservitives in the bread it must be consumed or frozen soon after baking. By the day after baking the quality of the bread is gone.

My bread machine is prefect. I use it nearly every day. Some days I make 3 loaves of bread. The booklet states the machine will not work as good with home milled wheat. This is not so. I milled wheat kennels and make my bread from scratch. I have several friends who also mill their wheat and use this machine with success. My recipe is from the “Bread Becker’s” site, not from the Zojirushi booklet included; so you see, you are able to use your own recipes. You might need to make some adjustments with the timing which is easy because th Zojirushi has three homemade cycles that can be set up. When I make my recipe, I just schedule the machine to bake homemade #3. My husband and children brag about the bread. It rises quite large and the loaf looks better than if I would have prepared it in the standard oven. I have made peach jam and it also turned out nice. I had another bread machine before this one and there are no comparsions with the results. I got the best price on Amazon after a lot of research. The Zojirushi cost is more than any other bread machine that I know of, but I am thrilled with this purchase. It takes me 15 minutes to prepare the bread beginning with milling three cups of wheat. The machine has the bread ready in 2 hours and 34 minutes. The bread I make has 3 cups of whole wheat flour, 1/2 cup of ground flax seed,sunflower seeds, and honey which I consider healthy. I am particular about my purchases and I cannot find anything I dislike about this machine. My children thanked my husband for buying the machine for me.
